Review: Essie nail appliques

essie nail stickers
Essie Nail stickers have been all the rage recently on Facebook nail groups. I wanted to see what all the hype was about!
First off, I was very hesitate to try these. I was afraid the stickers wouldn't fit my nail shape, even though it claims to fit all sizes. I ended up being right..

This was the end result for me. Application itself was just ok. I did have difficulty with bubbling because I had to pull them up and re stick some of them. Filing the excess was the worst part for me. I ended up filing some of my nail off, and it was just a hot mess. Plus, when I went to take the excess off, tiny pieces didn't get filed down, so when I went to pull it off, it stretched the sticker! I had jagged edges on almost every nail. When I started on my left hand, I thought maybe I could cut the excess off with scissors and then file a small amount and it would work better..it didn't.

I did not have the right sizes for all of my nails, if I wanted to make these work I would have to buy 2 packages of the same kind and mix and match. My ring and middle finger are the same size, so I only had enough to do one hand correctly (I use the term correctly very loosely). It's a good idea to size match BEFORE you start applying as well..I made the mistake of not doing that at first. DO NOT ADD TOP COAT. I saw pics of someone who added top coat, and it completely ruined the sticker.

I personally would not use these nail stickers again. It was more than likely human error on my part, because they are a good quality sticker compared to some of the ones I've seen. And for $1 at Dollar Tree, you really can't beat it, even if the end result looks like mine! Has anyone had success with these? I'd love to see the results!
