Sally Hansen Insta-Ombre Swatch & Review

Hi all! Sally Hansen has recently released a limited edition collection called Insta-Ombre. They've made glitter gradients simple for everyone!

I'll admit it, I was skeptical, yet intrigued. I have no problems doing graidents (ombres) it's actually one of my favorite nail art techniques. I thought I'd give one of these a try and see if I liked it. 

First, let's start with the application process:

Step 1: Apply 1 coat to clean, dry nail

Step 2: Apply 2nd coat from mid-nail to tip

Step 3: Apply 3rd coat to nail tip only

I wasn't sure if I was supposed to apply this over a base color or by itself. I'd seen swatches of these on naked nails, and to me it just kind of looked like an incomplete manicure. I decided to swatch Gold Grade over a pink base, Sally Hansen Rum Punch.

Final thoughts: Not too impressed. I feel like I can do a glitter gradient better the normal way with a sponge and dabbing. However, for those that want a touch of nail art and aren't able to do it on their own, I think this is a really neat concept. I love that Sally Hansen has been branching out and trying new things.
